We work as a very close knit small team of 2 main tutors. Ms Lim and Miss Pei Hsing. Miss Pei Hsing teaches lower secondary math and science as well as O level Chemistry while Ms Lim teachers upper secondary all the way to JC2 math and physics. We have teaching assistant working with us for selected classes, these tutors are mostly ex-students whom we had taught in the past, and they are very familar with our style and share our vision, they also have superb content knowledge in their specialised subject areas, and possess the quality and passion to impart knowledge in the most engaging way.
Ms Lim (founder)
Ms Lim is the founder of My Math Story Enrichment Centre. Ms Lim is an Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduate with Post Graduate Diploma in Education in Physics and Mathematics. She has over 20 years of teaching experience, including teaching in a SAP school, and tutoring secondary and junior college students since the late 1990s.
Ms Lim has tutored students from a wide range of secondary schools and junior colleges such RGS, MGS, RI, ACS, ACJC, HCI, VJC etc. Many of her students started with her during their secondary school days and continued being tutored by her till they completed junior college. Because of her intrinsic nature to connect with her students, Ms Lim is able to communicate effectively with them without any barriers, thus her students are receptive to her teaching. Her tuition classes are engaging and she encourages students to discover concepts through questioning and scaffolding appropriately. With an extensive teaching experience, Ms Lim is apt at spotting the strengths and weaknesses of each student. Miss Pei Hsing (Senior tutor)
Pei Hsing is a Master graduate (by research) in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. She also holds an Advanced Graduate Diploma in Psychology, Australian Psychology Accreditation Council’s accredited Fourth Year programme (Honours), from the University of Melbourne.
Pei Hsing has over 10 years of experience as a project management consultant working with Fortune 500 companies. Her strong Maths and Science background forms the basis of her excellent analytical skills that contribute to her achievements both academically and professionally. Her analyses are highly regarded by her clients as value-adding and insightful. In addition, the University of Melbourne’s examining Professors regarded her research thesis as innovative and contributed to advancement in the field of study. Pei Hsing has also authored and co-authored academic publications as well as industry newsletters.
Pei Hsing has diverse experience in educating, mentoring and training. She has taught primary school students, mentored tertiary students in doing research, trained multinational working professionals and taught English as a second language to the elderly and new migrants in Melbourne, and tutored countless math, science and Chemistry students, successfully building a strong foundation for them. Pei Hsing believes that with positivity and encouragements, all learners can flourish.
